FTC Compliance
Last updated: April 25, 2026
Accounting Software Pilotis committed to full compliance with the Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255) and all related guidance issued by the FTC regarding online disclosures.
Material Connections
A “material connection” exists when there is a relationship between an endorser and a product seller that could affect the credibility of the endorsement. On this site, material connections include:
- Affiliate commissions earned when readers click links and complete qualifying actions with software vendors
- Free or discounted access to software provided by vendors for review and evaluation purposes
- Sponsored content or advertising placements, when applicable
We disclose these material connections clearly and conspicuously, as close to the relevant claim or link as practical.
How We Disclose
Our disclosure practices follow FTC guidance on placement, prominence, and clarity:
- Articles containing affiliate links include a disclosure statement at the beginning of the content or within the relevant section
- Sponsored content, when published, is labeled with a clear “Sponsored” designation that is visible before the reader engages with the content
- This site maintains a central Affiliate Disclosure page accessible from the footer of every page
- Disclosures are written in plain language, not legal jargon, so readers can understand the nature of the relationship
Editorial Independence
Compensation from affiliate programs, sponsored placements, or vendor access does not influence editorial outcomes. Our evaluation criteria are applied consistently regardless of whether a commercial relationship exists. The editorial team retains full authority over:
- Which products are reviewed and when
- Review scores, rankings, and final verdicts
- Whether a product is recommended, criticized, or excluded from a comparison
- The language and framing used in all published content
Our evaluation methodology is published on our Editorial Standards page.
Testimonials and User Opinions
When we reference user opinions, customer reviews, or testimonials from third-party platforms (such as G2, Capterra, or TrustRadius), we cite the source and do not alter the content of those reviews. We do not fabricate or solicit testimonials. Where our own editorial opinion is presented, it is based on our documented research and testing process.
